AI Got Soul is an experiment in music and technology. We wanted to explore whether Artificial Intelligence, a machine without feelings or a heartbeat, could create something as deeply emotional and joyfully vibrant as soul music. Every song, every track and artist name, every heartfelt lyric, every cover artwork, and even these notes on this page were generated using AI tools.The soulful tunes you'll hear were brought to life with Suno, an AI music generation system. Lyrics and track names were created with Suno and ChatGPT, an AI language model created by OpenAI. Artist names and sleevenotes were generated with ChatGPT. Cover artwork was generated with Microsoft Image Creator, which uses OpenAI's DALL-E 3.It's important to add, while this project could not have happened without these AI tools, everything you see and hear was ultimately created by humans, via prompts, tweaks, edits, and overall conception and curation. We like to say "Created by Humans Using AI".The use of AI tools in creative projects is controversial. There was never any intention to overshadow or detract from the incredible original artists whose music, writing and artwork helped train these AI systems. Nor is there any aim to replace crate digging for real soul records. This is purely an experiment—a fun and fascinating journey into what AI can do.We leave it up to you, the listener, to decide if this experiment was successful.
